Borussia sign Tim Kleindienst from 1. FC Heidenheim

Former Heidenheim striker joins Borussia Mönchengladbach

Kleindienst scored the goal that secured Heidenheim's promotion to the Bundesliga in 2019

Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed forward Tim Kleindienst from 1. FC Heidenheim on a four-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday.

Kleindienst, 27, scored 12 goals in 33 Bundesliga 2 appearances for Heidenheim last season, helping the club to a third-place finish in the table.

The striker began his career with VfL Bochum and also played for 1860 Munich and VfL OsnabrĂĽck before joining Heidenheim in 2018.

"Tim Kleindienst is a physically strong and dangerous striker who has proven his goalscoring ability in the Bundesliga 2," said Borussia sporting director Max Eberl.

"We are confident that he can make a positive contribution to our team and help us achieve our goals."

Kleindienst said he was "very happy" to join Borussia.

"This is a great club with a rich history and I am excited to be a part of it," he said.

"I want to help Borussia achieve success and I am confident that I can make a positive contribution to the team."
